Deutz-Fahr all the way

For a contractor in Yea it’s Deutz-Fahr all the way

Matthew Noonan breeds Hereford cattle at ‘Taunton Park’, south of Yea, and has contracted around the region for many years.

No stranger to getting stuck in when it comes to community service, Matt is a Yea Agricultural Show committee veteran, tennis club stalwart and long-standing member of the Limestone CFA brigade. He was the local CFA captain for ten years; his first day in charge was the infamous Black Saturday bushfires.

Matt also knows a thing or two about tractors.

“My new Deutz-Fahr is the sixth I’ve bought overall,” he says. “The Herefords are on our property and our daughter runs dairy goats here as well, but the bulk of my work is contracting. That’s why I need the Deutz-Fahr tractors.”

Straight out of the showroom and onto Matt’s farm is an eye-catching Deutz-Fahr 6G Agrotron 6165, powered by a 163 hp, stage III compliant, six cylinder Deutz engine. The bold design is striking enough, let alone the sheer versatility.

It’s STOLL loader ready, handy for moving between farms with its 50 km/h road speed and boasts a whopping 6200 kg lift capacity. The wet clutch power shuttle and RC shift transmission greatly aids towing and loader work for different applications, while the deluxe cab eases the burden of long hours.
“The new 6165 will be used with a new front mower and rear mower,” Matt says. “I’ll be cutting 6.6 metres in one pass. I’ve also got a 5115, a 5120 and a 6135 I picked up two years ago.

“These are running flat out during hay season, when I have another three guys working for me on top of the three who are with me year-round. Away from hay season I’m doing fence contracting, pulling a Munro post rammer with the 5115.”

Matt says he loves his Deutz-Fahr machines on account of their efficiency, fuel economy and price point when compared to similar tractors in their class. The icing on the cake is the supreme service he receives.

He has dealt with Seville Tractors exclusively since he got into Deutz Fahr and gives them high praise.

“I get on well with them, their back up service is terrific and 99 per cent of the time they’ll sort me out over the phone,” Matt says. “Plus, I like a smaller dealer. I started off with second-hand SAME tractors and Matthew [Giordano] from Seville was always able to help, even though I didn’t buy those through him.

“I’m more than happy to recommend Deutz and the Seville dealership to people in the area. Put it this way – I’ve probably sold a few tractors for them as well!”

Seville Tractors’ service and overall performance was recognised in September.

At a function organised by the brand’s importer and distributor, PFG Australia, the chair of SAME Deutz-Fahr, Aldo Carozza, was on hand to personally award ‘Deutz-Fahr dealer of the year’ to Matthew Giordano and Gerard Darveniza.

Given the competition regionally and nationally, it is quite the accolade.
